This name was emended to xuthus in the index; xanthus is an incorrect original spelling. I.C.Z.N. Opinion 286 placed xuthus on the Official List of Names Available in Zoology as name no. 117 and xanthus on the Official List of Rejected and Unavailable Names in Zoology as name no. 69.
